Grassroots
policy development
Policy development meetings are held at the county level to surface and
formulate policy recommendations to forward to the state and national
levels where no policy statement is considered unless generated from the
grassroots. Recommended new policy or policy amendments are voted on by
delegates to the State and National Conventions. The policies instruct
legislative staffs of Texas Farm Bureau and American Federation of Farm
Bureaus on specific positions to take in pursuing agricultural laws and
appropriations.
